Fantastic fiction

  I know this late to give an opinion on this movie, to be frank, I really enjoyed the movie those who say this movie is slow and lag I will be with you. Yes, it is not great it could have been much but still this solid historical film movie moves in pace and historical movie demands. The rise and fall of Marakkar are captured well. Marakkar is portrayed as a normal human being he makes mistakes as well which I really liked. Yes, there are some unwanted plot points even without them the story would work. The movie has cringe dialogue but that is not the reason troll the movie. Battle scenes in the ship and fort were short well. I don’t get the point comparing it with Odiyan and Mamangam is not fair. Not all movies needed to be magnanimous or groundbreakingneighbors they can also be light-hearted and simple and the new Malayalam movie Jan E Man is exactly that simple a piece of work that everyone can enjoy but also sheds light on humans and emotions. The plot is an interesting one where the story revolves around two neighbours where one is celebrating the birthday of a friend and the other is mourning the death of a family member. How these two events take place and how they get connected is the plot of Jan E Man.   I have always been a supporter of out-of-the-box movies in Malayalam, most of these movies won’t get the credit from the masses the new genre may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The new Nivin Pauly flick Kanakam Kamini Kalaham written and directed by Ratish Ambat is one of those offbeat Malayalam movies that won’t be like buy many. The theme of the absurd comedy is an exaggeration of daily life events.  The story takes in the Hotel which has over-the-top versions of real-life people.   The movie based on the most known fugitive of Kerala is something that every Keralites will look forward to, the name Sukumara Kurup is talked about at least once in every Malayali household.  When Kurup movie was announced with Dulquer playing the longest wanted fugitive the film enthusiast in me got hyped.  Malik follows the story pattern of hero to many but villain to the system which we have seen in many films. What makes Malik unique is its making, performance, and cultural aspects in the movie. The film is filled with amazing visuals kudos to the cinematographer. Malik is 2hr 41 minutes long but it never felt like that because the movie moved in nice pacing that does not make the viewers bored. We immediately get transformed into the world and culture. The cast as usual has done a great job to make the film engaging because the script demands good performance.  Parallel's with Kamal Haasan's Nayakan can be s seen in Malik but still, it is unique in its way. As mentioned earlier there are cliches in the plot that can be overlooked. Malik could have been a better experience on the big screen.

  The new Malayalam thriller is a blending of horror and crime genre. The movie is not the next best thing but a one-time watch. The editing and camera are excellent in the film so are the BackGround Score.  The story, it started in an interesting way but when it comes to it became quite predictable. In a crime thriller, the story will be interesting if the task of solving the crime is a challenge but when it comes to the second half it becomes easy for the protagonist. The horror part is done in a believable way that does not break the reality of the world it is set. When it comes to the acting part everybody has done good jobs the roles were not challenging for anyone. "Cold Case is a one-time watch thriller that does not belong to the must-watch category but worth giving it a try" Rating 6/10
